Slick, stylish and sophisticated, this long-awaited film pulls together story strands from the comic book work of Frank Miller, and weaves them into one hugely atmospheric whole.
Filmed largely in black and white, this is the story of Basin (or "Sin") City. Miller himself co-directs, alongside Robert Rodriguez with a little help from a certain Quentin Tarantino.
They tell a dark story of a city where the cops are as corrupt as the crooks and many crimes are committed. Some of the story lines involve Marv (Mickey Rourke), who is looking for the people who killed a beautiful woman he was in bed with; Hartigan (Bruce Willis) who's been jailed for a crime he didn't commit; and Clive Owen plays Dwight, a photographer who accidentally kills a cop.
And those are just some of the things that are going on in Sin City. It's a brutal, violent tale that's hugely impressive and shouldn't be missed.
