A lawyer uncovers new evidence about a convict on death row but faces opposition from his parents when she sets out to have him freed. The condemned man is mentally disabled and should not have stood trial in the first place, but his parents want his disability to remain a secret and are convinced that execution is a better option for him than a tortured life.
