Jay Roach's timely film is the story of the 2000 US Presidential election when George W Bush beat Al Gore. But for days the result was in dispute, thanks to the hanging and dimpled chads on the ballot papers of the state of Florida. Kevin Spacey plays Ron Klain, Al Gore's chief of staff, Tom Wilkinson plays his adversary James Baker III and Dennis Leary plays Michael Whouley, a Gore staffer who 'talks' the audience through the complexities of the legal challenges.
