New, sharp and young FBI agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves, pictured, left) is assigned a tricky case: a spate of bank robberies by the mysterious Ex-Presidents gang (who dress up in Carter, Reagan, Johnson and Nixon masks). He joins crazy agent Pappas (Gary Busey) to track down the gang, but Pappas has his ideas who the gang really are... a group of surfers. Utah goes undercover in the hope of gaining more insight, but is soon sucked into the cool mysticism of surfing guru Bodhi (the late Patrick Swayze, pictured, right).
Released in 1991 and directed by Kathryn Bigelow, this high-octane thriller has plenty of action and the cast pull things together well.
