A late-night murder at McCool's bar is remembered three times from different perspectives as Detective Dehling, bartender Randy, and Randy's lawyer-cousin Carl project their fantasies onto the sexy Jewel, whose boyfriend is the corpse in question. As each man reveals all - Dehling to his priest, Randy to an aging hit man, and Carl to his therapist - it becomes clear that the femme fatale Jewel has been manipulating the love-struck men for her own purposes, namely to acquire gifts for her house.
