Canadian con-man Paul Gregory scams a wealthy woman and stashes his ill-gotten fortune before letting the police catch up with him. He plans to serve an expected five-year sentence, then collect his loot once he is released, but when the judge hands down a heftier stint behind bars, he enlists the aid of a fellow crook to spring him from jail.
