Humorous tale about an 11-year-old tomboy who lives with her widower father, a mortician in love with the new make-up artist at the funeral parlour where he works. Along with fears that she may have been responsible for her mother's death, the girl is also troubled by her father's relationship, which seems to come between them. But she finds a best friend to help her cope with the confusion.
