Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton star in Notting Hill director Roger Michell's satirical comedy, set behind the cameras of a breakfast TV show. Having been fired from her previous job, TV producer Becky Fuller is hired by Jerry Barnes to turn around the fortunes of a morning show that's been bumping along at the bottom of the ratings league. She hires her hero Mike Pomeroy, a veteran heavyweight news anchor, to co-host with Colleen Peck, the presenter who survived Fuller's restructuring of the show. Unfortunately, Pomeroy can barely bring himself to read the lightweight scripts, which he feels are beneath his expertise, he doesn't get on with Peck, and he also competes with her for the honour of being the last to say 'goodbye' at the end of every programme. Also starring Patrick Wilson as Becky's love interest, and Matt Malloy as the nerdy weatherman who she delights in sending to ever more eye-catching outside broadcasts. First screening on Channel 4.
