In 18th -Century London, a poor woman becomes a prostitute and wife before escaping to a better life in the New World.
Brought up by nuns after her mother was hung for stealing after her birth. Moll (Robin Wright) has an unquenchable independent spirit.
Her constant strive to be independent and better herself meant she spent some time being a prostitute for the money, whilst doing this she meets an artist (John Lynch) who hires her to sit for him, he soon falls in love with her.
Narrated by Hibble (Morgan Freeman), a brothel servant to Moll's young daughter, Flora (Aisling Corcoran). Moll's memoirs tell of her journey to America to see a rich benefactor.
