The most impossible seeming legend of the First World War is actually true. On Christmas Eve, 1914, while one of the bloodiest conflicts in human history was under way, many battalions of the Western Front called an unauthorised truce. Soldiers met peacefully in No Man's Land to share food, play football and sing carols. This film dramatises French, British and German soldiers celebrating, with some superiors turning a blind eye and others infuriated.
