André De Toth's western starring Randolph Scott and Alexander Know. Rancher Owen Merritt has become the target of unwelcome harassment by his richer and more powerful neighbour, Will Asham, who is out to expand his estate by fair means or foul. To make matters worse, Merritt's former sweetheart Laure Bidwell has married Asham to gain security, even though she still loves Merritt. Merritt's confidante, the schoolteacher Nan Melotte, warns him that, wracked by jealousy and resentment, Asham is out to get him. So, when Asham sets a trap involving a hired gunman, Merritt is also forced to use violence to defend himself and his property.
