Brian Desmond Hursts's war movie pays tribute to the people and defenders of the besieged island of Malta, centred on the pivotal role played by reconnaissance pilot Lt Peter Ross. Plenty of realistic reenactments and archival combat footage as the British are beseiged and try to fight off the Luftwaffe.
