Fine performances and a sharp script make this movie, based on the novel by Gilbert Adair, definitely one to watch. Hurt is superb as the reclusive English novelist who develops a fixation on an untalented but popular American B-movie actor (played by Priestley), and decides to track him down at his home on Long Island. Starring John Hurt, Jason Priestley. Dir Richard Kwietniowski. Touching and at times hilarious.
