Little Caesar (1930)

This is one of the most well-known and best of the early classical gangster films and was based on the career of one of the most famour gangsters of all time, Al Capone.

Cesare Enrico 'Rico' Bandello (Edward G. Robinson) becomes a member of a gang run by the formidable, Sam Vettori (Stanley Fields).

Eventually Rico replaces Sam as the leader of this gang and starts to visualizes himself as running the city. The next step of his master plan is to run the rival gang's leader, Little Arnie Lorch (Maurice Black), out of the town. Needless to say.. he succeeds!

Hungry for success and power he goes after the even higher, Pete Montana and then accepts "Big Boy's" (Sidney Blackmer) offer of a prize for this, but his sights are set higher still.

Now comes his demise!
