Four friends get together for one last hurrah in this stellar comedy.
Affected by the death of his mentor, sexagenarian Billy (Michael Douglas) decides it’s time to start making the most of life and impulsively ends his eulogy by proposing to his much younger girlfriend Lisa (Bre Blair).
When he shares the news with lifelong friends Archie (Morgan Freeman) and Sam (Kevin Kline), they insist on throwing him a bachelor party in Las Vegas. Their first task is to persuade grumpy widower Paddy (Robert De Niro) to attend despite a previous falling out with the groom-to-be, but once they bring him on board, the deck is cleared for a weekend of fun, frolics and profound realisations.
An impressive cast line up for this diverting comedy packed with all the typical bachelor party antics, albeit with an OAP twist.
There’s plenty of Sin City wish fulfilment for the older gent, (judging bikini contests, winning at the Blackjack tables, getting handed a spectacular suite), but De Niro puts in a classy performance, while Mary Steenburgen delivers a charming supporting turn as Strip siren Diana. Also keep an eye out for an unlikely 50 Cent cameo.
