It's the ultimate in kung fu fun - comedy mixed with stunningly choreographed martial arts, in a hugely entertaining movie. The film is set in pre-Revolution China, when gang warfare is rife. One of the most deadly gangs is The Axe Gang, who decide to take on the slum landlady of Pig Sty Alley. They hire some very odd killers to get rid of her - but don't realise some of her tenants are talented exponents of deadly martial arts who'll leap to her defence. They also fail to take account of Sing, a local hustler who finds himself stuck in the middle of the warring factions. The action is a cross between Crouching Tiger and some of the craziest cartoon fights. It's impressive, breathtaking, often hilarious and great fun.
