Emanuelle Devos plays a woman in her mid-thirties who apparently has it all, but in fact lives a life of desperation; twice divorced, with her latest relationship on the rocks and a moody son, she learns her father is suffering from terminal cancer. She turns to her second ex-husband, but finds he is suffering from mental problems and is under the care of psychiatrist Catherine Deneuve. Arnaud Desplechin's melodrama is tinged with comedic elements.
