John Dahl's chiller stars Steve Zahn and Paul Walker as Fuller Thomas and his brother Lewis who, along with Lewis' friend from college, Venna, decide to drive across the Sates to their vacation.
To lighten up the trip, they buy an old CB radio and start talking to truckers, eventually winding them up with jokes and tricks. But when they go too far, they find that one trucker, who goes by the handle of Rusty Nail, is out for their blood and he knows the dusty back roads far, far better than they do...
Inevitably compared to Spielberg's Duel, Joy Ride offers details that are just as scaring but very, very different, with a white knuckle night chase through a cornfield one of the highlights.
