A US marshal is attacked by two brothers while travelling to Stone Junction in Kansas. He captures one of the outlaws, but the other is killed in the fight. When he reaches his destination, the lawman is greeted by an angry mob and a corrupt town mayor who are desperate to hang the prisoner for the crimes he has committed.
