Bernard Rose's film looks at the underbelly of Hollywood through the life of Ivan Beckman, a top agent negotiating to get Peter Weller on board his company. But when he's diagnosed with terminal cancer, his life falls apart in a frenzy of booze, drugs and call-girls as he refuses to face his family or reality, leaving his colleagues to scramble over each other for the leftovers of his business.
