A veteran LAPD detective journeys to a small Alaskan town with his partner to investigate the murder of a 17-year-old girl. Evidence appears to point to a reclusive novelist, but the investigation is hampered by the region's perpetual daylight which wreaks havoc on the sleep-deprived detective's body clock and threatens his judgement.
