The nations of Greece and the rest of the ancient world are threatened by the rise of King Hyperion (Rourke). Already in control of a huge army, the megalomaniac is seeking the Epirus Bow, an immensely powerful weapon with which he hopes to release the immortal warriors the Titans from their aeons-long imprisonment within the rocky confines of Mount Tarsus.
At the head of these formidable combined forces, Hyperion then intends to defeat the gods of Olympus themselves. The Olympian deities are fully aware of this threat, but have sworn not to intervene directly in the affairs of mankind.
However, Zeus (Luke Evans) hopes to tip the balance in favour of the gods by arranging for an old man (John Hurt) to tutor a lad from Tarsus called Theseus (Cavill) in the warrior arts. But whether this gamble will pay off will only be revealed after various plot twists, and after multitudes have been slaughtered in battle after ferocious, gore-soaked battle...
