(Jason Bateman) plays luckless accountant Sandy Patterson, whose life is turned upside down when he learns a woman named Diana (Melissa McCarthy) has stolen his identity - cleaning out his bank account and getting him mixed up with the law. In an effort to clear his name, Sandy travels down to Florida to apprehend Diana, but pinning down the slippery swindler is even trickier than he expected.
Playing largely to type, Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy use their generous comic gifts to lift this knockabout comedy scripted by The Hangover II and The Hangover III writer Craig Mazin With plenty of slapstick violence and hard-edged humour, Identity Thief shares traits with director (Seth Gordon)'s last big-screen effort Horrible Bosses and should appeal to those in search of some boisterous road-movie fun.
