Hoot (2006)

Wil Shriner's family film, based on Carl Hiaasen's novel, stars Logan Lerman as Roy Eberhardt, who, thanks to his father's job, is at his eighth school in six years, this time in Florida. There, he makes friends with Beatrice and Mullet Fingers. Mullet is involved in low-level sabotage to stop a chain restaurant building on a nesting site used by rare burrowing owls and the other two join his in his eco-battle against inept contractor Curly and his greedy boss Muckle.
