This comedy is entirely set in the dog-eat world of international banking.
The story centres on two British bankers, Nicholas Quinn (Jack Shepherd) and Bruce Morton (Richard Wilson), who are facing up to the challenge of international global capitalism at Kenrick Maple by fighting among themselves.
Nicholas regards Bruce as a challenge to be dealt with by employing his considerable interpersonal skills. Bruce regards Nicholas as a challenge to his sanity. Then there are the day to day difficulties in running a major financial institution; the fund manager who makes all his investment decisions by using astrology; the headhunter who is supposed to be finding them a new manager but who is actually far more interested in poaching their own staff; the computer security expert who is intent on prying into their personal lives; and the tycoon, who owes the bank millions but keeps Nicholas and Bruce distracted by buying them little gifts.
