The third film in the Rishi Kapoor season is introduced by the actor, who speaks about the highs and lows of making a film that challenge prevailing prejudices. Rishi Kapoor stars as Chander, a laidback Kashmiri Hindu in love with Chandni. On his way to see his fiancée, Chander's car meets with an accident and falls into a river. He washes up on the other side of the border with no memory of who he is. Assuming he is a Pakistani Muslim like them, the villagers who find him name him Chand and take him into their fold. While there, he falls in love with a local village girl, Henna. But when Chander's memory returns the night before they are to marry, tensions arise.
