Kevin Kwapis's romantic comedy is based on a self-help book that shares the film's title, which itself was inspired by an episode of Sex and the City. The plot concerns the relationships of a multiplicity of Baltimore residents, but centres around Gigi's long-thwarted search for love. And when she asks her local barman Alex why men never seem to call her back after a date, his answer turns her understanding of romance upside down. Meanwhile, Janine seems to be more interested in working on her house than her marriage to Ben, who in turn strays with yoga teacher Anna; while Beth is having trouble persuading her long-term boyfriend Neil to marry her. The all-star cast also includes Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Kevin Connolly and Kris Kristofferson.
