Harvey (1950)

Classic comedy starring James Stewart and Josephine Hull. Elwood P Dowd is a friendly middle-aged eccentric who spends much of his time drinking at the local bar, where he often introduces his friend Harvey to newcomers. This wouldn't be unusual, except for the fact that, according to Dowd, Harvey is an invisible six-foot rabbit. And while the existence of Dowd's best friend rarely raises an eyebrow among the bar's clientele, his social-climbing sister Veta Louise Simmons is mortified by Dowd's behaviour. Deciding that enough is, finally, enough, she resolves to get Elwood committed to a sanatorium. But things don't play out as she expects.
