Hollywood stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney shine in this jaw-dropping space thriller that won seven Oscars.

Veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) is on his last space flight before retirement, and his final task is to guide rookie engineer Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) through her first mission. While the brilliant but inexperienced Stone is understandably nervous, the job is routine enough, until an unforeseen disaster leaves the pair floating in the isolated expanses of space with oxygen, and any hopes of survival, running out fast.

Director Cuaron follows up 2006's Children of Men with this gripping blockbuster, which arguably boasts the most groundbreaking use of 3D since James Cameron's Avatar.

Using advanced technology, along with skilful cinematography, Cuaron has created an immersive, nail-biting ride that puts you right in the space suit of its protagonist.

Meanwhile, the Oscar-nominated Sandra Bullock, on screen alone for much of the running time, uses all her experience to deliver a strong central performance that's among the best of her career. With broad sci-fi thrills making it one of last year's biggest box office hits, and outstanding technical achievements garnering critical acclaim, Gravity is a real must see.
