Dr Miranda Grey (Halle Berry) is a psychiatrist at a mental hospital who is involved in a car accident when she tries to avoid running over a young girl on her way home from work. When she wakes up, several days have passed and she finds herself in the very institution she worked in, only this time as a patient in a cell, drugged and with no memory of what happened to her.
