Master car thief Nicolas Cage comes out of retirement to steal 50 cars in one night in this rip-roaring B-Movie remake. His brother Kip (Giovanni Ribisi) is in hot water with a Russian crime lord (Christopher Eccleston) after failing to deliver the exotic vehicles, so Randall 'Memphis'
Raines (Cage) assembles a crack team of old hands to help save his sibling's skin. The gang, comprised of ex-lover Sway (Angelina Jolie), old mentor Otto Halliwell (Robert Duvall)
and mute hard-man The Sphinx (Vinnie Jones), aim to steal all 50 cars in one go to cut down their chances of getting caught. With Raines' old adversary, Detective Castlebeck (Delroy Lindo), on his tail, the pressure is on to get the job done in this gripping race against time.
An exhilarating trip through LA after dark, set to a pumping hip-hop soundtrack, the top talent involved - including Academy Award winners Cage, Duvall and Jolie - have great fun with this Jerry Bruckheimer produced action flick. While the cast list may be eye catching, the actors take a back seat to the real stars of this petrol-heads' paradise - the stunning super cars.
Unashamedly action-packed, Dominic Sena's film is designed to showcase the movie's magnificent motors and get the adrenaline pumping during the centrepiece chase sequences. A simple storyline, lots of action and a light-hearted script make for an entertaining watch.
