Leonard Abrahamson's gorgeously shot Film4-funded tragicomedy is set in a small rural Irish town, where the local garage is run by Josie, who has borderline learning difficulties. However, since the garage is well off the beaten track, he can cope with the occasional car in between trips to the pub where Carmel, the girl he secretly fancies, works. But when Josie is given a teenage assistant, David, he extends the hand of friendship, which unfortunately includes sharing beers and porn. Labelled a sex pest, he finds himself either ostracised or the object of derision and events begin to take a dark turn.
