There's something a bit off about Charley Brewster's (Anton Yelchin) new neighbour. Jerry Dandridge (Colin Farrell) seems a charming yet unremarkable chap, but neighbourhood nerd Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) is convinced he's a vampire.

Newly popular Charley brushes his ex-mate's anxieties aside, until locals start disappearing, and the teen is forced to reconsider.

Breaking into Dandridge's house, Charley finds a hoard of victims stashed in the basement, so appeals to Vegas magician/vampire expert Peter Vincent (David Tennant) for help. But when he's rebuffed by the showman, Charlie has to go it alone to protect his mother (Toni Collette) and girlfriend (Imogen Poots) from the fate of the fanged fiend.
