Fresh Air (1999)

Neil Mansfield's enjoyably original Sydney-set debut feature arrives on screen courtesy of the country's A$1m Movie Scheme, set up to fund such ventures. It follows the intertwining lives of three artists; Marin Mimica, a film-maker who's looking to get past making shorts; his girlfriend Nadine Garner who's politically active but struggling with her work and budding musician Bridie Carter, as they all reach crossroads both in their lives and relationships.
