Robert Aldrich's tense and exciting thriller tells the story of air-crash survivors who, with death imminent, are forced to try and build a single-engine aircraft from the wreckage of their plane in order to escape from their crash-site in the north African desert.

The tight script, subtle direction and superb ensemble cast - James Stewart (pictured, left), Richard Attenborough (pictured, right), and Ernest Borgnine - make this an excellent action movie, worthy of anyone's all-time classics list.

Highly recommended.
