This first production from Alicia Silverstone 's own company is a quirky comedy in which neglected teenage heiress Emily and unwilling kidnapper Vincent hit the road in a cross-country escapade. Emily attempts to fake her own kidnapping, tying and locking herself in a car boot, in a desperate cry for attention, but her plans go awry when she is accidentally driven away by Victor, a laconic car thief. When Victor discovers the girl, he hits the road with her, but soon it is hard to tell who is the kidnapper and who the victim, as the troublesome Emily vents her annoyance on her new-found companion. However, as the mis-matched pair are chased across the country by creepy friend of the family Ray, their icy disdain for one another begins to melt into something much deeper.
