Empathy (2007)

Directed by
Dave Richards

Written by Steve Lightfoot, Empathy centres on Jimmy Collins (Stephen Moyer, Lilies), an ex-con locked away for a violent attack, whose paranormal visions assist the police in the hunt for a murderer.

On his release from prison, Jimmy suddenly starts to experience visions when he touches people. He sees what they see. While he struggles to rationalise this unnerving ability, he attempts to forge a relationship with his daughter, Amy, whom he hasn't seen for years after divorcing her mother, Sarah, when he was first sent to prison.

When he brushes past a man on a station platform, Jimmy receives a vision that gives him a unique insight into a high-profile murder case. At the police station, DI Will Benson (Mark Womack, Sorted) discounts Jimmy's story and immediately suspects that he is involved with the murder, but DI Jo Cavanagh (Heather Peace, The Chase) is increasingly convinced that Jimmy's visions might provide vital clues to the identity of the murderer.
