Powerful drama about a middle-class couple who succumb to alcoholism. Joe Clay is a PR man whose job description includes partying and drinking copious amounts of alcohol to keep his clients happy and his career on track. When young secretary Kirsten Arnasen, a non-drinker, walks into his life, the two fall in love and get married. However, their idyllic life is soon spoiled by Joe's escalating drink problem.
