Dance of the Wind (1997)

The successful career of a young Indian classical singer comes to an abrupt end when her mother dies. Gidwani, who has also learnt her music from her mother, loses her voice and with it her self confidence. Robbed of her guru and parent, she finds herself adrift as an orphan in a changed world. However, with the help of a mysterious homeless girl, she begins both a spiritual and physical journey, uncovering a dramatic secret in her mother's past which brings her to a new understanding both of herself and of her extraordinary gift.
