Curly Sue (Alisan Porter) first appears to be a sweet little girl with curly hair and a big smile, but this street kid is a talented trickster. Sue and her streetwise guardian Bill (James Belushi), make ends meet by scamming people through fake traffic accidents.
When they are hit by a car for real by Grey Ellison (Kelly Lynch), a high-powered corporate attorney, they hit the jackpot and find themselves living in her luxurious apartment, with the best food, new clothes and genuine kindness. Although Grey's boyfriend disagrees with her helping the strange pair, Grey sees the best in Bill and Sue and soon finds herself falling in love with both of them.
