Christopher Smith's Creep is firmly in the mould of Hostel and Saw, but in a very British setting (he went on to write and direct Severance). Inspired by Gary Sherman's 1972 classic Death Line, the film suggests that parallel to the Tube tunnels are others - some harmless sewers, others more dangerous - that might, for example, have been dug by survivors of genetic experiments at a hospital above the Underground line.
