Dan is a bohemian poet who falls for art student Candy. Both of them fall under the spell of Casper, a master chemist of illegal drugs who supplies them with heroin. As they become more and more hooked, their idyllic lives and love affair spiral downwards into pawnshops, prostitution and withdrawal.
