When the clueless Anthony Adams (Luke Wilson) is released from a psychiatric hospital he gets together with his crazy friend Dignan (Owen Wilson).
Dignan has decided that the pair, with the help of their other 'pathetic' friend Bob Maplethorpe (Robert Musgrave), are going to go on 'some sort of..' crime spree which also involves his ex-boss Mr Henry (James Caan).
The three of them hit the road where Anthony falls in love with a maid called Inez (Lumi Cavazos). When the three finally get together with the notorious Mr Henry, the resulting drama turns out to be far from what any of them were expecting.
