When watching this film, viewers should remember to expect the unexpected. Far from generic cliché, the film could possibly be described as a psycho-sexual thriller.
Laura (Emmanuelle Seignier, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) is a stripper, who falls in love with an enigmatic rich doctor Marco (Philippe Torreto). On her last day of work, Laura is involved in a car accident and left severely injured and deaf. In fairy-tale style, Marco comes to her rescue and the two build a life and family together. Five years later, the behavioural problems of their son Jeannot (Clement Brilland) challenges their love and reveals the disturbing foundations on which this relationship was built.
François Hanss displays a deft ability to mix contemporary grit with a classic thriller structure reminiscent of the forties and fifties.
