James Nesbitt follows the fortunes of Ray and Terry, a couple of hapless pickpockets operating around Liverpool, who stumble upon a suitcase containing £2 million. The pair look forward to living it up, once they have paid off an old debt to Dave, the local gangland boss, who has himself heard news of their good luck. However, when they learn that the money was supposed to be the ransom for the safe return of a kidnapped child, their conscience gets the better of them and they attempt to return the cash - with Dave and his huge minders on their tail.
