George Miller's family film is based on a true story. In a coastal town in 1960s Maine, harbourmaster Harry Whitney brings home an orphaned baby seal called Andre. But when Toni's sister Paula falls in love with hostile fisherman's son Mark, a plot is hatched to get rid of Andre for good.
