The slickest newsman out of San Diego is back and making the headlines in a second comedy adventure.
Moustachioed anchorman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) has just received the news, and it's bad. He's been sacked from his job fronting a New York news show and, worse, his wife and co-anchor Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) has been promoted to become America's first female evening news anchor.
Ditching Veronica in a fit of jealousy, he hits rock bottom working for San Diego SeaWorld but, at his lowest ebb, he's offered a chance. He meets producer Freddie Shapp (Dylan Baker), who wants Ron to work at GNN, the world's first 24-hour rolling news network.
All he needs to do is get the old San Diego gang back together. But can Ron, Champ (David Koechner), Brian (Paul Rudd) and Brick (Steve Carell) change the face of news?
With 10 years of hype to live up to, the odds might have been against this follow-up to 2004's Anchorman, but the return of Ron Burgundy doesn't disappoint. Ferrell's greatest creation delivers line after line of side-splitting funnies, backed up by a top-notch cast, a tickling helping of farce and plenty of star-studded cameos, including a showstealing Harrison Ford.
