Colm, a Catholic, and George, a Protestant, are psychiatric prison barbers who take over the business of one of the patients, the great hairpiece seller The Scalper. At first business is great selling hairpieces to bald men but as they ply their wares through strife-torn Northern Ireland competition looms in the shape of a rival firm, and politics, business and religion clash in Barry Levinson's dark comedy.
