Thirteen years ago, friends Jim (Jason Biggs), Stifler (Seann William Scott), Oz (Chris Klein), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) and Finch (Thomas) left school to go their separate ways. But they're about to find out just what everyone's been up to since at their high school reunion.
Jim is still married to Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and the birth of their son has put paid to their sex life, so when they go to stay at Jim's old house, flirtatious 18-year-old neighbour Kara (Ali Cobrin) proves difficult to resist. Oz, meanwhile, has a supermodel girlfriend (Katrina Bowden) and a great career, while Kevin has settled down, but with the irrepressible Stifler around shenanigans are guaranteed.
Nine years after their last big-screen outing (and 13 after their first), the American Pie gang are reunited for this enjoyable slice of nostalgia. The characters may be older and (questionably) wiser, but the amiably juvenile gross-out humour that made the series a teen classic is still very much in evidence.
As always, Scott is a stand-out, bringing an unlikely charm to Stifler's outrageous antics, as is Eugene Levy (returning as Jim's dad) with his brilliant deadpan delivery. Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Jennifer Coolidge and Shannon Elizabeth also return, and the fact that the entire class of '99 are in attendance is a real plus for this belated fourth instalment, as everyone seems to be enjoying the reunion vibe both on and off screen.
