Wise guys Trench (Denzel Washington) and Stigman (Mark Wahlberg) are in deep with a powerful drugs cartel when a bank robbery they commit lands them in serious hot water. Discovering that each is not a criminal but an undercover agent for the DEA and Special Forces respectively, the duo are further dumbfounded to find that the tiny New Mexico bank held $43million dollars - 40 more than they were expecting. Clearly something is up, but with crime boss Papi Greco (Edward James Olmos) after them for the double-cross, the CIA on their tail for the robbery and the money now missing, it's all they can do to stay one step ahead of the shooters trying to take them out.
Based on a graphic novel produced by Boom! Studios, 2Guns marks the second collaboration between Kormákur and Wahlberg, who worked together on crime thriller Contraband in 2012. An accomplished and satisfying caper bolstered by strong casting, the film is a bullet-riddled banter fest that is sure to please any action aficionado.
